On the evening of November 18, 2001, The Dawntreader group was in Sleyden, MS to test our newest redesign of Clark's Fountain created to finally produce the 100-foot high fire colum of legend. Here, yours truly is fuzing the monster just prior to ignition.
THAR SHE BLOWS! From a distance of about 100 feet, the 5/8"choked behemoth springs to life with unusually savage fury. Shortly after ignition and before reaching its full height, this shot was taken with a digital camera (hence the lack of definition and color seen with the FPAG pictures). Column height here is between 85 and 90 feet and reached well over 100 feet at the peak of the burn.
Our camera required almost half a minute to reset, so the second picture comes as the fountian begins burning down, seen here at still nearly 65 feet.
